People’s feelings for sounds varies from one to another, however, when we were kids in music classes, the music instruments and songs we learned were always the same. What if the early music learning experience could be free like general art classes? As we can enjoy the freedom to explore potentials of sounds, maybe it could be a better way to ignite children’s imagination.
“ Sound Lab ” steps out the academic music education, by combining 3D printing with hardware from daily life, creating a media to connect daily life sounds to melody. Holding workshops allows children to explore the fun of sounds, igniting their imagination for sounds and music even create their very own instruments.
Daily Sound from Daily Object
In the modern life, people has a limited imagination for sounds like EDM or classic music, they tend to pursue the dazing visual stimulations instead of music itself. Thus we hope to utilize daily objects to spark curiosity for music, a different music class to boost children’s imagination for sounds.
Teaching aids from life
"Hardware from daily life" is an artifact that everyone often sees and is close to life. Through the size, operation and material diversity of the public regulations, it is suitable as a teaching tool for exploring sound.
Creating Unique Sound
Dividing the sound workshop into Explore, Experience, Try, Utilize, and Integrate…etc., Children can explore interesting sounds in life by themselves, transforming daily objects into simple instruments, creating their own music.
How to create unique sound
By using the teaching tools which are able to connect to different ready made objects/hardwares easily, helping the children get to know the sounds made by various materials performing ways.
